All Things Curly

Best leave-in conditioners:

Tracee Elis Ross's Pattern Beauty Leave-In Conditioner
This is one of the best conditioners if you have a very tight pattern because of its intense properties that help your hair retain moisture in dry and hot settings. This is my personal go to whenever I am traveling overseas to a hot country or visiting family in the Carribbean. This is perfect to survive the hot city life as well because the humidity is never our friend in the curly hair world (yikes).

Mielle Leave-In Conditioner

This is an excellent refresher conditioner if you need to carry something to freshen up when you are out to dinner or out networking. This is an ideal lightweight conditioner if you have looser curls that need moisture but not large amounts. This is also perfect for tighter curl types that may need extra moisture for the tips to prevent breakage and help grow your hair!

Best Conditioners:

OGX Biotin & Collagen Conditioner

This is one of the most underrated and BEST conditioners if you want to transition your hair from chemically treated to its natural state. It is also highly affordable compared to other brands! Biotin is a source of vitamin B that helps make your hair thicker and shiny! Collagen contains the perfect amount of amino acids to stimulate keratin in the scalp to promote hair growth! Best Styling Gels:

Goddess CURLS Botancial Gelle

Curls Styling Gelle is great for those who want a gel that has a strong hold and no scent. This is ideal for those who know that leave-in goes before the gel and do not want to mix scents that could cause a headache or a reaction. Their products are all-natural and affordable for the everyday curl girl looking to look cute at a reasonable price.

Bounce Curl Light Hold Hair Gel Lotion

This is my go-to gel at the moment; it is perfect to help hold your curls but also make sure they are soft and shiny. Bounce Curl is also independently owned and a small curly hair product company (support small businesses!). It has a light scent that is natural and refreshing that is not overpowering but, definitely adds to the delicious smell that curly hair can have with all of the conditioners and refreshers that we tend to use!

Best Cowashes:

As I Am Cowash

This is an excellent co-wash to start your curly hair journey! It is light and does not give a harsh wash that would strip away your natural oils, which as curly hair girls, we all know that we need our natural oils as much as possible. It has a light scent that is incredible for those who may be sensitive to smell. Check it out in the link!

Pantene Gold Series Deep Hydrating Co-Wash

Pantene came out and surprised all of us curly hair girls! This co-wash is perfect for anyone who is interested in finding a nice lightweight wash that gets the dirt out but also helps hydrate your scalp by concentrating the oils in your hair. I have been using it for all of 2023, and I have no complaints at all!

Best Scalp Cleansers

Briogeo Scalp Revival Exfoliating Charcoal Shampoo

This changed my life! When dealing with curly hair products, it’s pretty essential to be able to cleanse your hair and scalp, especially when you are irritated. I have, unfortunately, gotten bad reactions to curly hair products and will be writing a blog post about how to be weary about these kinds of things. If you believe you are allergic to a curly hair product, this is the best product to use since it clears your scalp of everything and repairs any damage you may have suffered. Trust me; you will need this if you experiment a lot.

Moroccan Oil Clarifying Shampoo

This is another excellent option to thoroughly cleanse your hair of any irritation that it may have from products or build-up. The build-up is another considerable thing that can cause issues with your hair when you have too much in it and don’t clean it properly. This is a cleanser that will strip everything in your hair, so best to prepare to do a deep conditioner and condition once you wash out your deep conditioner as well. This is great to use once a month or every two week depending on your curly pattern.

Best Curly Hair Tools:

Scalp Massager

If you want to stimulate growth in your hair and ensure it is healthy, a scalp massager is your best bet! It helps make sure your hair is properly scrubbed and helps stimulate the hair follicles to create growth. Best to use in the shower and it is a great way to relax!

Banana Hair Clips

THIS IS AMAZING! I love these clips because they help pull my hair back and make me look like I have this lovely, long Ariana Grande ponytail! I have been using these to help me look cute through these harsh sunny summers that make me sweat so much but not enough to make me want to cut my hair. Check out the link to get a nice deal for 4 clips!
